Stouffer Hotels and Resorts
The professional services provided for this project include the design, permitting and planning of a 136-acre, $12 million golf course and country club for Stouffer Hotels and Resorts in conjunction with the restoration of their $92 million Vinoy Park Hotel in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. This project was unique due to its location in a very old residential community (constructed circa 1932), due to the vastness of on-site wetlands (some of which were removed or altered with little or no mitigation) and due to the environmental permitting and political approvals required City (EDC and BOA), County (BCC and WNCA), State (DEP, SWFWMD, DNR) and Federal (EPA, ACOE and USFW)].
As the prime consultant, Cumbey & Fair, Inc. was responsible for the coordination of the project’s design professionals (the golf course, building and landscape architects; the environmental and legal consultants and the structural consultants for the project’s bridge work); the project’s construction management and contract administration (including bid document preparation, contractor selection).
